Despite citing interest, it has been confirmed by Finnish broadcaster YLE that they will not be competing in Junior Eurovision 2024. The broadcaster has cited economic reasons for their non-participation.
Yle’s statement regarding Junior Eurovision 2024
When confirming non-participation to Eurovision blog Eurofestivales, Yle’s Markku Mastomäki said the following
“I am sorry to say that we will not participate in Junior Eurovision 2024. The reason, at this moment, is all economic.”

Finland are one of the few countries that have never debuted at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, despite taking part in the main competition. The other past and present competing Eurovision countries to never debut also include Andorra, Austria, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Czechia, Hungary, Iceland, Luxembourg, Monaco, Morocco, Slovakia, and Turkey.
Junior Eurovision 2024
Following on from winning Junior Eurovision 2023, it has not yet been decided if winner France will host there 2024 edition. France won the 2023 edition with singer Zoe Clauzure. She sang the song Cœur. This marked Frances’s third win in the contest and their second in a row. Countries to confirm participation for Junior Eurovision 2024 include:

- 🇵🇱 Poland
