As we get closer to finding out who will represent Luxembourg on its return to Eurovision, the preparations for its show later this month are in full swing. It has been revealed that Andorra’s Eurovision 2009 representative Susanne Georgi, alongside her business partner Francesca Aaen of Stars Academy Andorra will be the vocal and performance coaches for Luxembourg’s Eurovision 2024 selection.

Team brought in to support Luxembourg’s return to Eurovision

Stars Academy Andorra is already famous for their collaboration with TV shows such as La Voz, La Voz Kids, Got Talent and especially Eurovision, and the two international singers, Georgi and Aaen, are thrilled to be a part of this Eurovision adventure. Speaking about Stars Academy Andorra’s involvement on the competition, Susanne had the following to say:

The work we’re doing here in Luxembourg proves to me that even smaller countries have a wealth of talent and it makes me want to fight for Andorra’s return to Eurovision even more

What we know about the Luxembourg Song Contest 2024

The artists for the Luxembourg Eurovision Song Contest 2024 can be seen below:

The Luxembourg Song Contest 2024 will take place on January 27th. The national final will take place at Rockhal in Esch-sur Alzette. The winner of the Luxembourg Song Contest 2024 will represent Luxembourg at the 68th Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö. RTL will use the event to highlight the nation’s most seasoned artists, as well as those breaking through into the music industry. They promise a variety of music styles in the selection.

The national final will be broadcasted live on “RTL Télé Lëtzebuerg”, but will be available on all of RTL Luxembourg’s streaming platforms, so fans worldwide can enjoy the show. The show will be available with both English and French commentary. English commentary on RTL Today, and the French on RTL Infos. RTL Radio Luxembourg will also broadcast a radio version of the national final in English. All versions of the show will be available to watch later on RTL Play. Ticket and Artist information will be revealed in due course.

Luxembourg’s Eurovision Journey

Luxembourg first made its debut in the first edition of the Contest in 1956, with their first entries being “Ne crois pas” and “Les amants de minuit”, both performed by Michèle Arnaud. Since the first Contest, Luxembourg has competed a total of 37 times. Their best result was finishing in 1st place five times – in 1961, 1965, 1972, 1973 and 1983 respectively. 

Luxembourg last took part in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1993, when Modern Times represented the nation with the song “Donne-moi une chance”. At the close of voting, Luxembourg finished 20th in a field of 25 with 11 points. Following this participation, Luxembourg withdrew from the Contest and has not returned since.
