Ahead of Luxembourg’s selection ‘Luxembourg Song Contest’ taking place tonight, the running order for tonight’s show has now been revealed during the press conference for tonight’s show.

What we know about Luxembourg Song Contest 2024
The show will have four hosts – Désirée Nosbusch, Melody Funck, Raoul Roos and Loïc Juchem. Nosbusch is one of the most famous actresses in the Duchy and has previously hosted the Eurovision Song Contest in 1984 after Corinne Hermès won the previous year with “Si la vie est cadeau” (English – If life is a gift). Funck is an influencer known for her extravagant outfits and has previous experience presenting the game show “Qui sera le dernier” (English – Who will be the last). Roos and Juchem are radio presenters for RTL and are known for their humour and wit.
Alongside these four hosts, there will be commentary in both English and French. The French commentary will be live on RTL Infos, with commentary from Jérôme Didelot and Violetta Caldarelli. Alongside this, there will be English commentary on RTL Today from Melissa Dalton and Sarah Trapp, with a live ticker from editors Jeana Evans and Alannah Meyrath.
The voting procedure mirrors what we see in the main contest. There will be a jury that will contribute 50% of the total votes. There will be 8 countries within the jury, each contributing five members. Then, the remaining 50% of votes will come from the televote. Voting will take place on RTL’s official website. Votes can be cast from both within Luxembourg and abroad, costing €0.99 each and requiring a valid credit card. You can vote up to 20 times and can spread your votes among multiple songs, should you wish to do so.
Luxembourg’s Eurovision Journey
Luxembourg first made its debut in the first edition of the Contest in 1956, with their first entries being “Ne crois pas” and “Les amants de minuit”, both performed by Michèle Arnaud. Since the first Contest, Luxembourg has competed a total of 37 times. Their best result was finishing in 1st place five times – in 1961, 1965, 1972, 1973 and 1983 respectively.
Luxembourg last took part in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1993, when Modern Times represented the nation with the song “Donne-moi une chance”. At the close of voting, Luxembourg finished 20th in a field of 25 with 11 points. Following this participation, Luxembourg withdrew from the Contest, but is returning to the Contest in time for 2024.
