To mark 50 years since their Eurovision victory with “Waterloo”, the host city will celebrate ABBA with a two week expedition during the contest.
All parts of ABBA under one roof
For the first time, fans will be able to experience all parts of ABBA’s history under one roof whilst in Malmö, with exhibitions on: ABBA The Museum, ABBA Voyage, Mamma Mia!, Mamma Mia! The Party and Polar Music International, who manage the band’s catalogue, spread across two floors.
Where and when can I see it?
The exhibition will be at Södergatan 28 in the centre of the city, between Stortorget and Gustav Adolfs torg squares, and will run from 29th April to the day after the grand final on 12th May. Tickets for the exhibition will go on sale on Friday 22 March at 10:00 CET. There is a mailing list for those interested to sign up to receive more information.
Sweden’s Eurovision Journey
In 1958, Sweden made their debut in the Eurovision Song Contest, with Alice Babs representing them with the song “Lilla stjärna” which placed fourth. Since their debut, the Scandinavian nation has managed to win seven times (1974, 1984, 1991, 1999, 2012, 2015 and 2023).
In 2023, Loreen returned to represent Sweden, who won the 2012 edition of the competition. She competed with the song “Tattoo”, which managed to qualify for the Grand Final, and placed 1st with 583 points. Loreen won the jury vote, accruing 340 points from the jury, earning an additional 243 points from the televote. This now means Sweden matches Ireland for the record of most wins in Eurovision history.
