As we now have the songs competing for this year’s competition in Malmö, the team at That Eurovision Site will be reacting to the entries that will be participating at Eurovision 2024. The next entry we will be reacting to is Serbia, who will be competing in this year’s competition with “Ramonda” by Teya Dora.

Our thoughts on “Ramonda”

In this series, we will be providing our opinions in two methods. One of our team members will be reacting on video, which you can see below, whilst up to three other members will be giving their written opinion on the entry. Shiloh will be on the main seat and will be giving his reaction to “Ramonda”

What did the other members of the team think of “Ramonda”?

Jazzi: A stunning ballad that I actually really appreciate. Teya Dora’s voice is absolutely stunning, and I actually think in what is a pretty “loud” year in my opinion this actually has a chance of really standing out. The main pull point is Teya Dora’s voice and we don’t have many entries like that this season. I hope this does well. I wouldn’t  be shocked if we saw this in the Top 10 come the end of the contest in May.

Daniel: This is right up my alley, a beautiful and meaningful ballad that she performs brilliantly. I think she is amongst the best vocalists of this season and the song is perfectly suited to get the best out of her. I echo Jazzi’s words that in a really chaotic year she could mostly unnoticed go down the middle and secure a brilliant result for Serbia

Serbia’s Eurovision Journey

In 2007, Serbia made its debut as an independent country, having previously participated as part of Yugoslavia and Serbia & Montenegro. There, they were represented by Marija Šerifović with “Molitva”, which managed to win the competition. Since their debut, Serbia has participated 15 times (12 of which, where they qualified for the Grand Final).

Luke Black represented Serbia at Eurovision 2023 in Liverpool with his song “Samo mi se spava”. At this year’s competition, Serbia managed to qualify for the Grand Final, where they placed 24th. At the close of voting, he received 30 points – 14 coming from the jury and 16 from the televote.
