Belgium’s Eurovision 2024 representative Mustii has revealed several details about his performance ahead of Eurovision 2024.

First Television Performance for Mustii Next Tuesday

After being announced as Belgium’s representative for Malmö in August, Mustii will perform his entry “Before The Party’s Over” live on TV for the first time. This will take place next Tuesday the 16th of April at the semi-final of The Voice Belgique. This comes in the midst of his pre-party tour – he performed at Pre-Party ES, Barcelona Eurovision Party and London Eurovision Party and will perform at Eurovision in Concert and Nordic Eurovision Party.

Hints About Malmö

Mustii has also revealed some small, but significant details about his plans for his performance in Malmö. While he did not reveal specific details, he stated that there are “some hints” of his staging plans in his music video for “Before The Party’s Over”. Additionally, he will be styled by Flemish designer Elke Hoste, who was previously responsible for styling Oscar and the Wolf, among others.

Belgium’s Eurovision History

Belgium was one of the debutant countries at the beginning of the Eurovision Song Contest back in 1956. For the first edition, countries could submit two songs, and for Belgium that year, ‘Messieurs les noyes de la Seine’ by Fud Leclerc and ‘Le plus beau jour de ma vie’ by Mony Marc represented the nation. To this day we do not know the final results of Eurovision 1956. Belgium have taken part in 64 Eurovision Song Contests; however they have only ever won once – in 1986 with Sandra Kim singing the song ‘J’amie la vie’, scoring 176 points.

In 2023, Gustaph represented Belgium with the song “Because of You”. Gustaph qualified from the second semi-final, eventually finishing in 7th place with a total of 182 points. The juries awarded Belgium 127 points, whilst the televote gave 55 points to the performance.
