Following VÆB’s win last month, the full results for Söngvakeppnin 2025 have been released. The full data was released by Icelandic broadcaster RÚV.

One week on from VÆB’s win in the competition, RÚV released the full breakdown of results across the entire competition. Among the full results, it was revealed that VÆB had dominated voting throughout the selection.
During their semi-final, VÆB amassed over 30% of the vote, with second-placed Ágúst finishing with 24% of the public vote. In the second semi-final, Tinna won the public vote, but only receiving a total of 23% from viewers. Second-placed Júlí and Dísa finished close behind, with 22%.
Over the course of the final, VÆB would go on to win both the jury and the public vote. After amassing 74 points from the jury, a total of 36,535 votes were cast for the duo. This equated to 27.7% of the total vote, beating out eventual runner-up Stebbi JAK, who earned 25.2% of the final public vote. As a result, VÆB will represent Iceland in Basel with their song “RÓA”.
Iceland’s Eurovision journey
Iceland made its debut on the Eurovision stage in 1986, finishing 16th with the song “Gleðibankinn” (Bank of Fun) by ICY. In their 35 appearances, Iceland has finished in top 10 an impressive 7 times. Their best result to date is second place, which they have achieved twice. The first time was in 1999, where Selma Björnsdóttir received 146 points for her performance of “All Out of Luck”. The second time was in 2009, with Yohanna singing “Is It True” and receiving 218 points.
2010 returnee Hera Björk represented Iceland with “Scared of Heights” at the 2024 contest. She placed last in the first semi-final, scoring only three points.
