The 12 artists who will be participating in the 2025 edition of Sámi Grand Prix have been announced, as well as their competing entries.
12 Artists, including former National Final participants
12 Artists are taking part in Sámi Grand Prix, with six competing in the Song category and six competing in the joik category. Names that may be familiar to Eurovision fans include two time Melodi Grand Prix participants Elin & The Woods, as well as Hildá Länsman, who competed in UMK 2015 as part of the mother-daughter duo Solju.

One returning host, one new
In addition to the 12 competing acts, the hosting team for the show were announced last month. Ole Máhtte Gaup, who co-hosted the show last year alongside Natalie Carrion, will this time be joined by Maxida Märak, a Swedish-Sámi singer, joiker, actress and activist.
What is Sámi Grand Prix?
Sámi Grand Prix is a music festival held traditionally during the Sámi Easter Festival, and has been contested since 1990. The contest has two categories, with a song competition as well as a joik category both electing a winner in each year. Last year’s edition was won by joiker Nils-Ove Kuorak and singer bycecilia.
Sámi Grand Prix 2025 will take place on Saturday 12th April at Báktehárji Idrettshall in Kautokeino/Guovdageaidnu in Northern Norway, and can be watched across NRK, SVT and Yle’s respective services.
