🇸🇪 Lilla Al-Fadji to participate at Melodifestivalen 2026?

While Swedish broadcaster SVT finalizes the list of artists participating in their Eurovision 2026 selection, Melodifestivalen, rumors regarding who will be participating in the 66th edition of the competition continue to be reported. This time, Lilla Al-Fadji is being reported as part of next year’s line-up.

One of the biggest hip-hop artists to participate in Melodifestivalen 2026

The participation of Lilla Al-Fadji was reported by Aftonbladet, with the outlet reporting that an entry with Lilla Al-Fadji was submitted for this year’s competition, but was not selected. Now, the organisers have given Lilla Al-Fadji a spot for next year’s competition, with the entry apparently being written by Edward af Sillén, who has commented for Sweden at Eurovision.

As reported by Swedish media, the artists that could potentially be competing at next year’s competition are as follows:

Sweden’s Eurovision Journey

In 1958, Sweden made their debut in the Eurovision Song Contest, with Alice Babs representing them with the song “Lilla stjärna” which placed fourth. Since their debut, the Scandinavian nation has managed to win seven times (1974, 1984, 1991, 1999, 2012, 2015 and 2023).

In 2025, Sweden were represented by Finnish group KAJ, singing “Bara bada bastu”. At the close of voting in the grand final, they had received 321 points, finishing in 4th place. 126 points were received by the juries, while the trio received 195 points by televoters.
