Eurovision 2026 stage

Eurovision 2026 host broadcaster ORF has just revealed the official stage design of the 70th Eurovision Song Contest, which is due to take place in Vienna, Austria in May 2026.

Florian Wieder is the stage designer for another year

As previously rumoured, the stage designer is Florian Wieder. This would mark his tenth time working on a Eurovision stage, a testament to his enduring connection to the contest. He first designed for Eurovision in 2011 in Düsseldorf and more recently handled the stage in 2025 in Basel.

The stage features a curved LED wall that will serve as the backdrop to several of this year’s performances, according to a press release by the EBU. However, there will be a new addition as a “sweeping arc and an elaborate structure” will also be added around the stage.

Florian says the three elements of the curved ‘line’, the leaf and a golden construct will serve as the three centrepoints of the stage, and will highlight each and every performance in its own special way.

The Journey to Eurovision 2026

The journey to the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest kicked off immediately following JJ’s win in Basel, when Austria’s ORF accepted the rights to host the 70th edition of the contest. The bidding process started in June, with interested cities having until July 4 to submit their bid book. Innsbruck and Vienna were shortlisted, with the latter winning the right to host next year’s contest.

As for the organisation of the competition, the ‘core team‘ was revealed in June 2025, with further details about next year’s competition to be revealed in due course. The shows will take place on May 12th, 14th and 16th, with ticket sales starting 13th January 2026.
