As we approach the semi-final allocation draw, more and more information has been unveiled for the Eurovision Song Contest 2026.

Theme music and Social media hosts

The official music theme for Eurovision 2026 draws inspiration from one of Austria’s greatest cultural icons: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The theme has been crafted by Dorothee Freiberger and Martin Gellner. Freiberger is a well-known composer, arranger, conductor and music producer, with experience on major international productions. Gellner, meanwhile, serves as the musical director for numerous ORF television projects and previously worked on the Eurovision Song Contest 2015, when Austria last hosted the event.

For Eurovision 2026, the duo collaborated to create a modern musical reimagining of motifs from Mozart’s opera “The Magic Flute,” blending classical heritage with a contemporary Eurovision sound.

Also, social media hosts have been announced for Eurovision 2026! Paul der Papst, Josi Palla
and Felicia Lu will be the representatives for all social media, and questions will be answered until then. All are very experienced and ready to take over that duty.

The story of Eurovision 2026

The journey to the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest kicked off immediately following JJ’s win in Basel, when Austria’s ORF accepted the rights to host the 70th edition of the contest. The bidding process started in June, with interested cities having until July 4 to submit their bid book. Innsbruck and Vienna were shortlisted, with the latter winning the right to host next year’s contest.

As for the organisation of the competition, the ‘core team‘ was revealed in June 2025, with further details about next year’s competition to be revealed in due course. The shows will take place on May 12th, 14th and 16th.
