Ahead of her participation in the final of Melodifestivalen 2026, Sweden’s selection for Eurovision 2026, Tim had the opportunity to speak with Saga Ludvigsson, who is participating in Mello for the second time with her entry “Ain’t Today”

Together, Tim and Saga chat about how it was to get back into the Melfest circus and manage to get to the final. She also chatted about her hilarious reactions to qualifying for the final, as well as going deep into the meaning of the song. The pair also discuss what it would mean to her to represent Sweden at Eurovision, and what is next for her after Melodifestivalen.

Who is Saga Ludvigsson?

Saga Ludvigsson is no stranger to competitions, having participated previously in Talang in 2019, and in Idol in 2023, where she managed to place 2nd. Since then, she has released numerous singles and toured Sweden extensively, including being part of the Digiloo Summer Tour.

Saga Ludvigsson made her debut at Melodifestivalen 2025 with her entry “Hate You So Much.” She qualified directly for the final and ended 12th.

Saga Ludvigsson is participating in Melodifestivalen for a second time with her entry “Ain’t Today”, which was co-written by Saga alongside Dino Medanhodzic, Jimmy Jansson, and Johanna “Dotter” Jansson.

Sweden’s Eurovision journey

In 1958, Sweden made their debut in the Eurovision Song Contest, with Alice Babs representing them with the song “Lilla stjärna” which placed fourth. Since their debut, the Scandinavian nation has managed to win seven times (1974, 1984, 1991, 1999, 2012, 2015 and 2023).

In 2025, Sweden were represented by Finnish group KAJ, singing “Bara bada bastu”. At the close of voting in the grand final, they had received 321 points, finishing in 4th place. 126 points were received by the juries, while the trio received 195 points by televoters.
