🇪🇸 Sofia Coll – “IDK”
🇫🇮 Benjamin – “Hula Hula (feat. Sara Bee) (Vain elämää)”
Benjamin became somewhat of a fan favourite in the 2023 edition of Finlands UMK national final. The electro-gay-pop artist entered the show with his high energy, electro-dance track “Hoida Mut”, and despite only finishing 7th in the selection, the song had huge commercial success in Finland. The musician returned to the UMK national final the following year to host the show, alongside Pilvi Hämäläinen and Viivi Pumpanen. During the show, he took to the stage as an interval performer alongside fellow 2023 UMK artist KUUMAA, performing a mashup of their previous year’s entries. Benjamin is currently taking part in Finland’s Vain elämää TV show, and this week takes on the music of fellow UMK star Nelli Matula, in the form of her collaboration with Robin Packalen. Benjamin joins Sara Bee on this rework of the song “Hula Hula”.
Vain elämää (meaning “It’s only life” in Finnish) is a popular Finnish reality music television series, where a group of well-known Finnish musicians live and record music together. Each show features the music of a specific member of the group, with the original artist listening and reacting to the new interpretations of their song. The final episode usually features duets or group performances. The show is an adaptation of the Dutch format De beste zangers van Nederland. The title of the show comes from the classic 1973 song “Vain elämää” by legendary Finnish singer Irwin Goodman. The show premiered in 2012, and has become one of Finland’s most successful and long-running reality television programs, spanning numerous seasons and featuring dozens of Finland’s top recording artists. This week, the musical theme came from the hits of UMK 2025 star Nelli Matula, who is taking part in this year’s Vain elämää.
🇨🇿 LENNY – “GOOD OMENS”
LENNY competed in the 2024 edition of ESCZ, Czechia’s national final for Eurovision, with the song “Good Enough”. The edgy, alt rock singer placed 5th in the contest. This week, LENNY releases her newest full length album “GOOD OMENS”. The record is full of huge pop-rock sounds, including recent singles such as “CASANOVA” and “second guessing”, as well as plenty of new music. This is a great album for fans of female front pop-punk / pop-rock like Paramore and The Pretty Reckless. Huge.
🇪🇪 INGER – “viib meid tuul”
Aside from being a successful singer, songwriter and football, INGER has also gained recognition for many appearances in Estonia’s Eesti Laul national final, most recently in 2023 with the song “Awaiting You”. The Estonian singer has released a number of singles so far in 2026, and this week the musician teams up with elisabeth tiffany on new electro-pop single “viib meid tuul”. It’s a great track from the duo, with tonnes of synths and electronica.
🇵🇹 Pedro Gonçalves – “Ó Miu Amor!”
Pedro Gonçalves competed in Portugal’s Festival da Canção in both 2017 and 2021. Latest single from the Portuguese artist “Ó Miu Amor!” is a anthemic, chant along sound, with delicate vocals in the verses and huge musicality in the chorus. This is exciting!
🇪🇸 Agoney – “Cine de Terror”
Agoney is the stage name of Agoney Hernández Morales, who competed in the 2023 edition of Spain’s Benidorm Fest. At the close of voting, Agoney’s fan favourite dance-pop song “Quiero arder” narrowly missed out on the win to eventual ESC 2023 star Blanca Paloma. Agoney had made a pervious attempt to represent Spain in Eurovision, back in 2017, but was unable to take the win on both occasions. This week, the musician releases new song “Cine de Terror”, a dramatic, melodic pop-rock song, with a somewhat Queen sound to it.
🇫🇮 BESS – “Diva (Vain elämää)”
BESS competed in the 2022 edition of Finland’s UMK national final with her electro-pop record “Ram pam pam”, becoming a fan favourite in the process. She would place 3rd in the national final, behind Cyan Kicks and eventual Eurovision representatives The Rasmus (who also feature on this week’s round-up). Despite not winning the national final, “Ram pam pam” became a massive hit in Finland. It was the most streamed Finnish song of 2022, and broke records in the country by spending 19 weeks at number one on the Finnish Radio Airplay Chart. She returned to the UMK stage the following year and appeared as one of the interval acts alongside The Rasmus. For the 2023 Contest in Liverpool, BESS acted as the jury spokesperson, giving the 12 Finnish points to Loreen’s “Tattoo”. In 2025, BESS once again appeared as an interval act in the UMK national final, alongside Linda Lampenius, Keira and other Finnish icons.
The latest release to come from the 17th season of the popular Vain elämää TV show sees BESS reimagine fellow UMK icon’s song “Diva”.

🇵🇱 Marcin Maciejczak – “To nie koniec”
Marcin Maciejczak has competed in both the adult, and junior selections for Eurovision in Poland. The singer placed joint third in the 2024 selection with his track “Midnight Dreamer”. The young Polish performer has also appeared in The Voice Kids in the country. Latest single “To nie koniec” sees him deliver another example of fun, exciting electro-pop / dance music, in the Polish language. This is great from the young star.
🇩🇰 maia maia – “hjernevrider”
Danish singer maia maia made a huge impact on the national final season back in 2023, when she took part in the DMGP national selection with her song “Beautiful Bullshit”. This week, the young star releases new EP “hjernevrider”, packed full of contemporary pop and indie, with electro influences, whilst still being vastly different from her national final entry.
🇸🇪 Molly Hammar – “Livsvittne”
Molly Hammer is a two-time Melodifestivalen participant, with “I’ll Be Fine” in 2015 and “Hunger” in 2016. Before this, Molly was a Swedish Idol contestant for the 2011 series of the TV4 show, placing 4th. However, her best Eurovision placing came as a songwriter, coming 12th for Malta with “Walk On Water”, performed by Ira Losco at the Contest in Stockholm. Molly herself appeared as a backing singer for the Maltese singer, making her a Eurovision performer in her own right, even without a Melfest win! This week, Molly releases her new album “Livsvittne”, showcasing her talents in both songwriting and vocal performance.
🇳🇴 TrollfesT – “Claiming the Walk Of Fame”
Norwegian group TrollfesT took part in the 2022 edition of the country’s MGP national final with their bombastic performance of their song “Dance Like a Pink Flamingo”. The folk-metal group have amassed a huge following as a result of their crazy stage performances and dynamic music, and ahead of their upcoming album, have this week released single “Claiming the Walk Of Fame”. The track is a fun, uptempo pop-metal song, full of quirks and weirdness that the bad have come to be known for.
🇪🇸 Noan – “Golden Hour”
Fans of Spain’s Benidorm Fest national final may remember Noan from his 2024 song, “Te Echo De -“. Although the Spanish singer didn’t make it through to the grand final of the national selection show, the song found huge success in Spanish speaking Europe after the contest. Noan has amassed millions of streams on Spotify since his 2024 attempt to represent Spain at Eurovision, including with his single “Moriremos Bailando” released earlier in the year. Latest single from the raspy-voiced Spanish singer-songwriter “Golden Hour” is full of his usual Spanish flair, with indie and country influences.
🇩🇪 Will Church – “Difference”
Will Church placed third in Germany’s 2023 national final Unser Lied für Liverpool, despite completely winning over the international juries. The singer-songwriter first rose to prominence on Germany’s 2021 series of The Voice of Germany, establishing a style of falsetto and upper-register singer. In recent years, the singer has shifted to more dance-pop style music, but this week Will returns to the more singer-songwriter guitar-pop style sound on new single “Difference”. The track is reminiscent of the likes of Sam Smith or Lewis Capaldi and is excellent country infused pop.
🇨🇿 Tomas Robin – “Live and Regret”
Tomas Robin performed the huge, dark-pop anthem “Out of My Mind”, finishing in sixth place in the selection but amassing fans all over Europe. Following the release of recent single “Live and Regret”, Tomas this week releases new EP of the same name, containing 6 songs of alt-pop and dark-pop, with melodic instrumentals and catchy choruses throughout. Tomas is a great musician that deserves more success in my opinion.
🇫🇮 Sara Siipola – “Mitä jää”
Sara Siipola was almost certainly the fan-favourite of the international eurofan community going into the 2024 edition of Finland’s UMK national final. At the close of voting, she narrowly missed out on the win with her huge, dark-pop ballad “Paskana” to Windows95man, ending as the runner-up. This week, Sara features on NOTO’s new single “Mitä jää”. The song mixes Sara’s anthemic ballad vocals with NOTO’s rap prowess, resulting in a really interesting Finnish language song.
🇸🇪 Anis Don Demina – “Superman”
YouTuber and media personality Anis Don Demina has featured on the Melodifestivalen stage several times, most recently as a contestant in 2020, placing fifth in the final with his song “Vem e som oss”. He returned to the contest in 2021 as a co-host of the 2nd heat, alongside Oscar Zia. This week, alongside Pomtus, Anis releases new single “Superman”. The track is a fun, high energy, dubstep infused song with an incredibly infectious beat.
🇪🇸 Rakky Ripper – “ZANAHORIAS AFILADAS”
Rakky Ripper’s Spanish hyperpop anthem “Tracciòn” was undoubtedly the fan-favourite non-qualifying song of Benidorm Fest 2023. The singer and producer has released a string of Spanish dance hits since 2023, and this week collaborates with vgtbl.pl, who seen intent on working with any national final artists across Europe who excel at hyperpop and electronica. The resulting single is a bold, high-tempo, hyperpop / PC music inspired pop track “ZANAHORIAS AFILADAS”.
🇺🇦 The Hardkiss – “Grey Hound”
The Hardkiss are probably most connected to the Song Contest through lead singer Julia Sanina’s role as co-host of the 2023 Contest in Liverpool. But the world famous prog-rock band had previously tried to represent Ukraine, in the 2016 national final and first edition of the revamped Vidbir show. In the final of the selection in 2016, the band won the jury vote outright, but when the public vote was added, they were tied for first place with Jamala. Because the rules of the contest in the case of a tie-break prioritised the public vote, Jamala won the ticket to Eurovision, and eventually went on to win the entire 2016 Contest in Sweden. Julia opened the entire 2023 season of Eurovision, performing the band’s iconic song “Mayak” at the beginning of the first Semi-Final in Liverpool. This week sees the deluxe edition of the band’s latest record “Grey Hound”. If you like anything remotely rocky, metal, prog rock or emo, give this a go. They are icons for a reason.
🇮🇹 Sangiovanni – “ti ho cercata (felicità)”
Italian singer-songwriter Sangiovanni has twice competed in the country’s Festival di Sanremo music festival, in 2022 with the song “Farfalle”, and again in 2024 with “Finiscimi”. Latest single from the musician “ti ho cercata (felicità)”, sees him delivering incredible pop-rap vocals over a smooth guitar backing track. Could Sangiovanni be one to watch for next year’s Sanremo?
🇳🇴 Erika Norwich – “bamseklem”
Erika took part in Norway’s MGP national final in 2024, with the iconic song “My AI”. She competed in the contest alongside giant pink robotic character Super Rob, later revealed to be Gaute Ormåsen. This week sees Erika in a completely different light to her Eurovision attempt, on beautiful new single “bamseklem”, a mostly acoustic record showcasing her vocal skill.
Junior Eurovision artists
🇵🇱 Sara James – “ZRÓB TO DLA MNIE”
Sara James represented Poland at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with her song “Somebody”, after winning the Polish national selection show Szansa na Sukces: Eurowizja Junior 2021. In the Junior Contest in France, she would eventually finish as the runner up, with 218 points behind Armenia’s Maléna. This week she releases “ZRÓB TO DLA MNIE”, a huge electro-RnB track, with exciting backing track and haunting vocals. This is exciting. It is fresh. This is just awesome.
🇺🇦 Artem Kotenko – “ШО ТИ ШО (норм чи стрьом)”
Artem Kotenko finished 3rd in 2024’s edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, with his song “Hear Me Now (Дім)”. The young Ukrainian singer has been releasing more and more music in the following years, and this week takes on an electro-pop / rap mashup in the form of “ШО ТИ ШО (норм чи стрьом)”. This is fun and fresh, and Artem is surely one to watch for the adult Contest.
Honourable mentions / tenuous links

Maxida Märak – “Tack och förlåt”
Maxia Märak served as the host of 2025’s Sámi Grand Prix music festival. The Sámi-Swedish musician had previously appeared in Melfest back in 2018 as part of a big Sámi inspired interval act. Latest release sees Maxida on a softer sound to some of her other music, with a melodic, almost country inspired guitar track. It’s a beautiful example of her vocal talents, and shows off the range of styles in which the Sámi musician can excel at.
