After the announcement last May that NBC has picked up the American adaption of Eurovision, titled “American Song Contest”, so many have wondered, when the contest would air. Now, NBC has revealed its midseason schedule, and it was confirmed that “American Song Contest” will debut on February 21, 2022, at 20:00 ET (13:00BST/14:00CET)

How will the “American Song Contest” work?
Keeping close to the Eurovision format, all 50 states, 5 U.S. territories, and the nation’s capital will be competing to win the title of “Best Original Song”. The competition will consist of three qualifying rounds, followed by a Semi-Final and a Grand Final where a state/territory will become the winner.
The American Song Contest is executive produced by Audrey Morrissey, Anders Lenhoff, Christer Bjรถrkman, Peter Settman, Ola Melzig, and Gregory Lipstone alongside Propagateโs Ben Silverman and Howard T. Owens. The competition is produced by Propagate in association with Universal Television Alternative Studio, a division of Universal Studio Group.
Alongside its reveal, further information of the show such as the hosts, artists, and the host city, will be revealed later on.
