The Winners

KALUSH feat. Хтось Із Заходу – “Горе”

New month, new KALUSH, although it has been a while since we had them in their ORCHESTRA-less form. “Горе” (Above) is another part of the KALUSHcollab project and is a nice addition to it. This song has been in the works for a while according to the YouTube description, as it is a part of a handful of as-of-yet unreleased songs that were written a while back.

Lordi – “Retropolis”

The album roll-out for Lordi with the aptly titled “Retropolis”. The song is very much inspired by and evocative of many different things from the 80s, and also sums up the upcoming album so much that Mr. Lordi almost made it the title track. It’s a fun track and almost cheerful by Lordi standars, all in all just a good time.

Emmelie de Forest – “Drown In Champagne”

While she currently seems to be on track to be remembered more for her frequent NF judging appearances than her Eurovision win, Emmelie de Forest is also still releasing music! Her latest is “Drown In Champagne” and it is on the poppier side of things.

Chemtrails Oslo – “Bad Day (feat. Hanne Krogh)”

The Bobbysocks are back in MGP, but that is not all that Hanne Krogh is getting up to. She also appears on this soft rock track by Chemtrails Oslo, who… You know what, I think it is better if you learn about the band via their bandcamp because what even is going on there.

Agatino Romero x GATTÜSO – L’Italiano (feat. Toto Cutugno)

An Italian DJ and a New Yorker walk into a studio and do what? Reimagine a classic, that’s what! Agatino Romero and GATTÜSO teamed up for this new version of Toto Cutugno’s “L’italiano”, his biggest hit internationally. And to be honest? It is a great time, and has just enough of the original in it to make you turn that on when you’re ready to wind down from all the partying to this new version.

Salvador Sobral – TIMBRE X EUROPA (ao vivo) (LP)

Portugal’s Salvador Sobral opened his 2025 with the release of a live album. “TIMBRE X EUROPA” contains each track of his 2023 album “TIMBRE” recorded at a variety of locations in Europe. A very nice treat for fans of the artist!

Ozbi & Sertab Erener – “Savaşçı”

The always busy Sertab Erener this month released a collab with rapper Ozbi. This is not the first time these two have worked together, having previously released the song “Kumsalda” together back in 2023. “Savaşçı” (Fighter) is as tough and rough as you would expect from a song with that title.

VICTORIA – “Whistle”

Victoria de Angelis continues her DJ era with “Whistle”. And before you ask: no this is not a cover of the Flo Rida song, although that would have been very funny.

Damiano David – “Nothing Breaks Like a Heart”

Speaking of Måneskin members and their solo careers, Damiano David also released new music this month. This was done in my favourite format for artists to do so: a Spotify exclusive single. “Nothing Breaks Like a Heart” is a cover of the 2019 Miley Cyrus and Mark Ronson song of the same name. This version was produced by Enrico Brun and Fabrizio Ferraguzzo, both of which have worked with Måneskin and a whole host of other big Italian names (such as Annalisa, Marco Mengoni, Il Volo).
