Other Highlights

There is way too much music released every month to cover in-depth, but here are some of the best and biggest new tracks from other Eurovision artists:

S10 – “Have Fun”

Don’t worry, S10 is still singing in Dutch, it’s just the title that is English. This song about the uncertainties in an early relationship sees S10 add some hyperpop elements to her usual sound, but the real highlight here is the music video. It’s a delightfully odd video full of narration, puppets, and more. The song is part of S10’s upcoming album next month, “Mijn Haren Ruiken Naar Vuur“.

MARO & NASAYA – “LIFELINE” (LP)

At long last it is here! MARO and NASAYA have finally finished and released their long awaited collaborative album “LIFELINE”. This 10-track effort includes the previously released title track, “WE COULD BE“, “CHIQUITINHA“, and “CRYCRYCRY” plus a great bunch of new tracks. From the early 00s singer-songwriter-goes-vaguely-pop opening track “I DON’T WANT TO FEEL THAT WAY” to the almost ambient “MARESIA” or the cool beats on house-inspired album closer “I’M SORRY”, there is something on this for everyone. Album of the month!

O.TORVALD – “ДЕМОНИ”

I will be the first to admit that O.TORVALD’s music after their excellent almost-but-not-quite final ever song has been pretty alright but not as good as the band can be. Well, the band is here to change that with one of their hardest songs to date. “ДЕМОНИ” (DEMONS) has it all: groovy verses, a stunningly tense build-up to the chorus and then some awesome guitar- and drumwork to seal the deal.

Azucar Moreno – “Ya no queda nada”

“Ya no queda nada” (There is nothing left), Azúcar Moreno sing on their new song. It’s another excellent track from the duo, with their distinctive modern flamenco sound present throughout.

Ermal Meta – “IL CAMPIONE”

The rocky singer-songwriter Ermal Meta sits down at a piano in an effort to deliver an emotional, somewhat retro track with “IL CAMPIONE” (THE CHAMPION). The song, which is part of an album releasing in May, was written by Ermal Meta together with Giordano Colombo (also co-produced the track with Ermal, hsa worked with Colapesce, Ana Mena, Tancredi), Andrea Vigentini, and Lorenzo Lumia.

Sinplus – “Faster Than Shadows”

I’m so, so, so happy to be writing about Sinplus again. “Faster Than Shadows” sees the band continue with their confident rock swagger, but upping the guitars and drums to create a powerful piece of music that really keeps driving the listener forward. Very, very good.

Gustaph – “Really Mine”

On his latest house track, Gustaph asks whether his lover’s heart is really all his. There is no time to pity oneself or anything though, because under and beyond those lyrics there is a very clubready song dragging you to the dancefloor. Great news, then, for Gustaph’s upcoming club tour and his album coming later this year.

Zemlja Gruva – “S Tabo Ali Brez”, “Pod Mostovi”

So this will take a bit of context for those not in the know. First off, Zemlja Gruva is the band that Konstrakta first rose to prominence with before embarking on a solo career, although fellow band member Milovan Bošković did still write and produce with and for Konstrakta’s solo efforts. Apparently in 2024 they worked as the music composers for Slovenian coming-of-age film Čao Bela, and now two of the Zemlja Gruva-credited songs from that O.S.T. have been released. And what songs they are! “S Tabo Ali Brez” is a fun little energetic retro-alt-pop track, of course with the usual degrees of experimentation we expect from Konstrakta. “Pod Mostovi” (Under The Bridge) meanwhile is reminiscent of the best alt, indie, and psychedelic pop of the early-to-mid-2010s, and is almost the song of the month, highly recommend!

TEYA – “Bite Marks”

Speaking of making music for other forms of media, TEYA‘s “Bite Marks” featured in the cinematic for League of Legends 2025 Season 1. Now, I must admit that I have never been a LOL player and therefore can say preciously little about the game, the trailer, or how this song engages with that. But something I can say is that this is a nice piece of darkpop.

Chris Harms – “Madonna Of The Night (feat. Solar Fake)”, “The Grey Machines”, Lina Bó & Friends – “Liebe für Alle”

Now it is time for some darkwave thanks to Chris Harms, who is building up quite the solo discography. “Madonna Of The Night”, featuring Solar Fake, is an excellent, dramatic, synthy track that could have been released now but also fits right into any good 80s playlist. “The Grey Machines” sees Chris Harms work with VNV Nation and deliver a song that feels a bit more colourful despite its title.

But that is not all, as Chris Harms also featured on a track. “Liebe für Alle” (Love for All) is a new track by folk-pop artist Lina Bó and features a whole range of names big and small. Notable to Eurofans are Chris Harms from lord of the Lost and ela., who was part of Elaiza in 2014. Most notable for me, however is Kai Wingenfelder from the massively underrated and underlistened Fury in the Slaughterhouse.

Kate Gulbrandsen – “Happy Vinterpride”

So apparently Lillehammer (which I best know for having hosted the Winter Olympics) has a Winter Pride. Kate Gulbrandsen (Norway 1987) has provided the official anthem for the festivities, fittingly titling it “Happy Vinterpride”. If you’re going to MGP, you’re in luck: Vinterpride Lillehammer kicks off on the 17th of February, two days after the MGP final.

KEiiNO – “Midnight Gloria”

Ever-present fan favourites KEiiNO have once again released new music, find out all there is to know about “Midnight Gloria” in our article below:
