As the songs competing for this year’s competition in Basel continue to be selected, the team at That Eurovision Site will react to the entries that will be participating at Eurovision 2025. The next entry we will react to is Luxembourg, which will be competing in this year’s competition with “How Much Time Do We Have Left?” by Klemen.
Our thoughts on “How Much Time Do We Have Left?”
In this series, we will provide our opinions via two methods. One of our team members will be reacting on video, which you can see below, whilst up to three members will give their written opinion on the entry. Tim will be on the main seat and will be showing his reaction to “How Much Time Do We Have Left?”
What did the other team members think of “How Much Time Do We Have Left?”?
Shiloh: The strength of “How Much Time Do We Have Left” lies in its subtlety and sincerity. This song came totally out of left field for everyone who knew Klemen Slakonja’s work as a comedian and parody artist, and in a year filled to the brim with showy club bangers or silly entries, the sheer power of honesty here is certainly going to blow people away. I have no doubts about its ability to qualify through a televote-only semifinal. That said, though, I wonder at times if the gimmick of flipping Klemen upside down almost cheapens the song or if it needs to go. It’s a cool effect but it feels so out of place in a song otherwise unreliant on Eurovision stage tricks.
Kittens: While this is a ballad and therefore officially not in my list of things that I want to listen to daily, it’s hard to ignore that this is a really powerful song. I really want this to be put lyrics first because that above all else is where the punch of the song comes from – and anyone who’s been in a similar situation to the lyrics is going to feel that hit hard. I’d echo Shiloh in that I don’t really think the staging works here from the NF, but that’s very workable on. My only concern is that it’s going to come across as ‘boring’ to a televoter in a crowded field this year, but I think the semi final draw has come through well for this with ballads not featured heavily in this Semi. It could work well for him – or it could be drowned out.
Daniel: Feel free to come back and laugh at me when the inverse of what I’m about to say comes true, but despite everyone and their very ESC inclined grandmothers predicting a 37th place for Klemen, I can easily see this qualifying. It’s an emotional, English language ballad in a semi-final choc-a-block full of people who will be trying to shout louder than each other, there’s definitely a pathway to the final for Klemen where I think he’ll get a fair share of jury love.

Slovenia’s Eurovision Journey
In 1993, Slovenia made its debut in the Eurovision Song Contest with 1X Band and the song “Tih deževen dan”, which placed 22nd. Since their debut, they have participated 28 times – of which, 16 were where they qualified for the Grand Final.
Slovenia’s recent Eurovision participation saw them being represented by Raiven, who sang the song “Veronika”. Performing at the first semi-final, Raiven placed 9th, therefore qualifying for the final for the second consecutive time. At the final, Slovenia finished in 23rd place, receiving 27 points. Of these, 15 came from the jury and 12 from the televote.
