🇨🇭 Information about Opening Ceremony of Eurovision 2025 to be revealed on April 14

With just 36 days to go until Eurovision 2025 commences, we are starting to find out more information about this year’s contest, ahead of next month. SRG SSR has announced more details about this year’s competition will be revealed on April 14.

Information on Opening Ceremony, Transport and more!

Swiss broadcaster SRG SSR has announced that an event will take place on Monday, April 14 at 13:15CEt. The event will show what the Opening Ceremony will be like, the show concept for Basel, what transportation options would be, as well as the new public value content that would be implemented so as many people as possible can experience the contest.

The speakers for the event include:

  • Reto Peritz & Moritz Stadler, Executive Producers
  • Beat Läuchli, Project Lead Host City 
  • Letizia Elia, Director of Basel Tourism 
  • Francesca Guicciardi, Co-Head Public Value ESC
  • Marco Krämer, Senior Show Producer ESC
  • Nicole Simmen, Producer and Author ESC
  • Samuel Bohren, Project Manager Events SBB RailAway 

The event will be hosted by Sven Epiney, and will be aired on the official Eurovision Song Contest channels.

All About Eurovision 2025

Switzerland will be hosting the 69th edition of the competition following Nemo’s historic win at Eurovision 2024 in Malmö. A few weeks after their win, Reto Peritz, and Moritz Stadler were announced as the Executive Producers, with other roles revealed in July 2024.

Basel, Bern & Biel/Bienne, Geneva, and Zurich submitted bids to host next year’s competition, with Basel and Geneva being shortlisted as the final two cities. After the shortlist, it was decided that Basel will host Eurovision 2025, at St. Jakobshalle with the shows taking place on May 13, 15 and 17.

The visual identity for this year’s contest is “Unity Shapes Love”, which was developed by Art Director Artur Deyneuve, and was inspired by the Swiss tradition of direct democracy, with the message conveyed visually through the iconic Eurovision heart symbol.
