Eurovision in Basel is just less than a month away. In the lead-up to the start of rehearsals, we will get to know a bit more about this year’s artists, their discography, and their Eurovision 2025 journey so far. Up next, we will preview Switzerland’s Zoë Më.
Zoë Më’s Eurovision Journey So Far
In line with previous years, Switzerland internally selected Zoë Më to be their representative for Eurovision 2025. As the host nation, Switzerland automatically qualified for the Grand Final. However, Zoë will be performing in Semi-Final One on May 13 before Cyprus.
Switzerland will participate on home soil with Zoë’s entry – “Voyage” – was written by Zoë herself, as well as Emily Middlemas and Tom Oehler.
What do we think of “Voyage”?
The team at That Eurovision Site has reacted to Switzerland’s entry for Basel. Tim gave his thoughts on “Voyage”, which you can check out below.
In addition to Tim’s reaction to “Voyage”, you can also find out what the other members of the team thought of Switzerland’s entry right here.
Who is Zoë Më?
Zoë Më is the stage name of Zoë Anina Kressler, a 24-year-old singer-songwriter born and raised in Basel. At a young age, Zoë and her family moved to Germany before she eventually returned to Switzerland in 2009. It was here when she developed her unique style of pop and chanson, combining her native German and French. She has since released one full-length album and two EPs, both being released in 2024. That same year, Zoë was awarded the Best Talent Award by SRF 3, following in the footsteps of former Eurovision alumni Nemo and Marius Bear.
Switzerland’s Eurovision Journey
Switzerland both hosted and debuted in the inaugural Eurovision Song Contest in 1956. Their first participation was successful, as they won with Lys Assia’s “Refrain”. Since then, they have participated on 63 occasions, making the Grand Final 52 times.
Switzerland’s most recent participation saw them being represented by Nemo with their song “The Code”. Performing in the second semi-final, they qualified for the Grand Final for a fifth consecutive participation. At the end of voting in the final, it was revealed Switzerland had won the Contest. Nemo scored 365 points with the national juries, as well as 226 points with the televote. The overall winning score for “The Code” was 591 points. This win marks Switzerland’s third win in the contest following on from Lys Assia in 1956 and Celine Dion in 1988.
