The countries that will be competing in Tbilisi for this year’s edition of Junior Eurovision are, as of October 1st:

Of the eighteen participants, Azerbaijan, Croatia and Montenegro are returning to the competition. Each country had last taken part in 2021, 2014 and 2015 respectively. On the other hand, Estonia and Germany have decided to withdraw from this year’s Contest.

Stage and visual design revealed

As well as the official participants list, the stage design, as well as the visuals of this year’s Contest were also revealed. According to the EBU, the design of the stage is done deliberately to delve into Georgian culture. The stage is built around the doli – a traditional Georgian drum, while the background rises high to symbolise the Caucasus mountains.

On top of this, the Contest had adopted a new visual identity, made to be more playful for the Junior Contest. United by Music also becomes the Contest’s slogan, following that of the adult competition.

Speaking on the new updates, Eurovision Director Martin Green said:

We are thrilled to welcome 18 talented young artists and their delegations to Tbilisi. The Junior Eurovision Song Contest is a unique showcase of youthful creativity and cultural diversity, and every year it reminds us of the boundless energy and imagination of Europe’s next generation.

Our thanks go to GPB for their dedication and creativity in preparing a stunning stage and artwork for what will be an unforgettable event.

We can’t wait to share this magical experience with the world in December.
