🇬🇧 Freya Skye misses second rehearsal for Junior Eurovision 2022

Today, the second rehearsals for Junior Eurovision 2022 have taken place. However, one act was unable to take part in the rehearsals, and that is the United Kingdom’s Freya Skye.

Following doctors advice

In a press release sent to the members of the press, the BBC mentioned that Freya would be resting and is looking forward to the live show on Sunday:

Freya Skye has been feeling a little under the weather so on doctor’s advice has been resting her voice and she’s looking forward to the live show on Sunday.

The EBU has confirmed that Freya used playback on her rehearsal under doctor’s advice.

About Freya Skye

13-year-old Freya Skye from Buckinghamshire is the United Kingdom’s first JESC representative since 2005. She first developed a love of singing at the age of five, when she was given a karaoke machine as a gift. Freya wrote her first original song during the covid lockdowns and also uploads cover videos to her YouTube channel. Besides singing and dancing, she enjoys acting, watching football, and spending time with her dog.

United Kingdom’s Junior Eurovision Journey

The United Kingdom was one of the first countries to take part in the first edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2003. Represented by Tom Morley and his song “My Song for the World”, the UK finished in 3rd place in Copenhagen. At the close of voting, Morley earned 118 points, only behind Spain and Croatia. The UK would compete a further two times, with their most successful attempt coming in 2004. In Lillehammer, Cory Spedding finished in second place with her song “The Best is Yet to Come”.

From the team at That Eurovision Site, we would like to wish Freya a speedy recovery and wish her the best of luck ahead of her performance on Sunday.
