Other Highlights
There is way too much music released every month to cover in-depth, but here are some of the best and biggest new tracks from other Eurovision artists:
MENT · Alicja · Marvin Brooks – “Loner”
Alicja was set to represent Poland in 2020, and also competed in national selection TbsE!WhnE! this year. The latest addition to her steadily expanding discography is a collab with Polish DJ MENT and Ghanaian-German artist Marvin Brooks. It’s a tasty little house track on which both Alicja and Marvin sound marvelous.
Benjamin Ingrosso – “I Had It All And Let It Go”
Co-written by a Eurovision winner almost made me consider putting this in the winners sectrion, just to confuse everyone for a moment. “I Had It All And Let It Go” is the latest single by Benjamin Ingrosso, and premiered on the season finale of his TV show Benjamin’s, a show that has popped up from time to time in these round-ups. The track was written and composed by Benjamin and ABBA member Björn Ulvaeus. It’s a gentle, atmospheric ballad about having let the love of your life slip away.
Iveta Mukuchyan – “Mi qich erkar hamburir”
Iveta serves us some Armenian-inspired Eurodance with new track “Mi qich erkar hamburir” (Kiss Me A Little Longer). The “Lovewave” performer sings about wanting to be kissed a little bit longer, in the hope that this fake or dying romance might (re)blossom into something real.
Francesca Michielin – “Fulmini Addosso”
Italian women get a lot of praise heaped onto them in these round-ups by me, and it is entirely deserved. A few months after the release of her amazing album “Cani Sciolti”, Francesca Michielin serves up entrancing dancepop-track “Fulmini Addisso” (Lightning Bolts). The song is part of the souyndtrack of the movie “L’Estate più calda,” a summer romcom made for Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service.
Samira Said – “Ensan 2ali”
Samira Said is in the Eurovision history books as Morocco’s only Eurovision entry, but her musical impact has far, far outlasted that one song. Arguably the most popular and enduring female artist performing in the Arabic language, Samira always has some releases ready to go. This month, she released “Ensan 2ali” (Robot), a song all about the stresses of the modern world. As one might expect from such a topic, the music combines modern pop elements with some traditional melodies.
Go_A – “Rusalochki”
Go_A have been touring across Europe, and their recent festival appearances have not only gotten rave reviews, but their Pinkpop performance can also be watched in full on their YouTube! Somehow, despite this busy schedule, the Ukrainian group have found the time to release a new song as well. “Rusalochki” is inspired by the Rusalka, a mythological creature, which once a year need to be guided to the forests. Musically, the song continues with Go-A’s unique electro-folk-rock-rave sound, while lyrically it is about finding your place in the world after your past reality has come undone.
Monika Liu – “Nemylėjau tavęs”
Monika Liu has only just released an album, but this queen is unstoppable. Her newest release, “Nemylėjau tavęs” (I did not love you) is a cover of Džordana Butkutė’s 1989 debut single. Monika transforms the 80s pop track completely into her own alt-lounge-pop style. This new version of “Nemylėjau tavęs” is part of a project set up by musical collective Gintariniai Laikai (Amber Times), which aims to bring back Lithuanian classics by having contemporary artists cover them.
Ryan O’Shaughnessy – “The Moment”
Ryan O’Shaughnessy was the most recent artist to represent Ireland in a Eurovision final. Luckily for him and for us, Ryan didn’t jump out of a cake (if you know, you know), and he doesn’t do it now either. “The Moment” is another tasteful, dreamy guitar track by the singer-songwriter, this time driven forward by some electric guitar work. As the title implies, the song is all about struggling to live in the moment.
Citi Zēni – “Baļļīte” (feat. Labvēlīgais Tips)
Citi Zēni know how to throw a “Baļļīte” (Party), and their new collab with Labvēlīgais Tips once again proves as much. The track is exactly as funky and goofy as one might expect. In the video description, Citi Zēni member Jānis Pētersons says that this song is a dream come true. “Baļļīte” is the second single of Citi Zēni’s upcoming second album.
Brooke – “Overload”
Irish star Brooke is releasing track after track now, and her latest single is the pumping “Overload”. It’s another club banger from Brooke, who this time sings about how the person she is with makes her feel so overwhelmingly good that she wants more and more.
Tanja – “Millal veel?”
Estonia’s 2014 representative Tanja goes for some poprock in new track “Millal veel?” (When else?). The song was released on her birthday and is a gift to her fans and herself, as she writes on Instagram: “I’ve wanted to do something a little more rocky style for a long time and now it seemed like the right time […] I’m very excited and I truly hope you like my new song! Have a great summer everyone! Enjoy to the fullest because when if not now?”.
Rosa Linn – “Lay Your Hands Upon My Heart” (EP)
Rosa Linn is touring at the moment, and now also released her debut EP. Find out more about “Lay Your Hands Upon My Heart” below:
KeiiNO – “Midnight Marina” (EP)
KeiiNO habe released many a single, but now it was time for an EP. You can read all about their latest release “Midnight Marina” here:

[…] Stop,” TVORCHI declare in their new track. And with how frequently they show up in these round-ups, I am not going to disagree. Jokes aside, this track is a love track about how the singer just […]
[…] Written alongside Mike Mago, Stuck’s lyrics deal with feelings of infatuation, and trying to get someone out of your head who is ‘stuck’ in there. Apt for a song with its name, the song is yet another alt-pop earworm from Mia Nicolai, after she released “Loop” back in June. […]
