On 11th of November, Latvia celebrated Lāčplēša day, a day to celebrate the latvian troops fighting for the country’s independence. The band has released a combined music video and live performance version of their cover of “Mūsu Mīlestība”.
“As long as the sun will shine above the Riga towers, Our love will never end”
As mentioned some time ago, Sudden Lights released a cover of a legendary latvian song Mūsu Mīlestība performed by Čikāgas piecīši. This time we saw the release of a live performance of the song from the Lielkoncerts 2023, interchanged with the shots of the band members lip syncing to the song. This version differs to the studio version of the cover with added orchestra elements like violins. We could also hear the other members shout/singing the chorus near the end. At the end, Andrejs is joined by a female choir to finish this outstanding performance.
Sudden Lights’ Eurovision Journey
Prior to their participation in this year’s Supernova, they took part in the 2018’s edition of the national selection. They have finished 2nd with their song “Just Fine”, losing only to the winner of the selection Laura Rizzotto.
In 2023, Sudden Lights have come back to Supernova to try their luck with representing Latvia at Eurovision. The boys have won the selection with their song Aijā and were set to represent their country at Eurovision. They performed 4th at the First Semi Final, finishing 11th, missing the final by just a few points.
