We’re less than a day away from knowing who the hosts of the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest will be, and speculation over who will take the coveted role is rife.
Hosts to be announced on the 20th
Swiss news outlet Blick are speculating that a trio of women will host the contest. The main name that Blick are suggesting is Michelle Hunziker; an established broadcaster who has worked extensively with 2025 hosts SSR SRG. The veteran presenter had actually voiced her desire to host with the newspaper last year.
Further broadcasters’ names floated by them include:
- Angélique Beldner
- Dominique Devenport
- Hazel Brugger
- Sandra Studer
- Sven Epiney
All names listed are TV personalities who have worked with the broadcaster in some capacity in recent years. We will find out who will host the upcoming contest during a press conference live from Switzerland tomorrow afternoon.
All About Eurovision 2025
Switzerland will be hosting the 69th edition of the competition following Nemo’s historic win at Eurovision 2024 in Malmö. A few weeks after their win, Reto Peritz, and Moritz Stadler, was announced as the Executive Producers, with the other roles revealed in July 2024.
Basel, Bern & Biel/Bienne, Geneva, and Zurich submitted bids to host next year’s competition, with Basel and Geneva being shortlisted as the final two cities. After the shortlist, it was revealed that Basel will host Eurovision 2025, at St. Jakobshalle with the shows taking place on May 13, 15 and 17.
The visual identity for this year’s contest is “Unity Shapes Love”, which was developed by Art Director Artur Deyneuve, and was inspired by the Swiss tradition of direct democracy, with the message conveyed visually through the iconic Eurovision heart symbol.
Meanwhile, the tickets for Eurovision 2025 will be sold on ticketcorner.ch, and there will be a pre-registration process for the tickets, which will run until January 10. The tickets will be available to purchase from January 29, 2025. One day after the Semi-Final allocation draw.
