February, the month of national finals and Valentine’s Day and the Grammies and a whole lot more. We’ve been through some slow months but the music industry has awoken from their slumber, which means I have gone through a massive amount of music to find you all the best and biggest music that came out this month. So let’s settle into this round-up of new music from Eurovision and beyond. This edition includes: Portuguese excellence, a Finnish surprise, and German goodness!

If you want to jump straight to a specific section, here’s a list of pages, each filled to the brim with new music:

The 2024 entries

alyona alyona – “Дві душі”

We start things these month with alyona alyona. “Дві душі” (Two Souls) is a lovely slowjam about the power of love. The track sees alyona alyona lean into the contrast between her characteristic sharp delivery and the more mellow production, sometimes pulling back and sounding gentler than ever. A really great way to musically reinforce the meaning of the song, with the vocals and the music always working in perfect harmony both with and without the contrast.

Jerry Heil – “РОЗЧИНЯЮСЬ (feat. Evgeny Khmara)”

The other half of Ukraine’s 2024 duo, Jerry Heil, also released new music this month. “РОЗЧИНЯЮСЬ” (DISSOLVE) is inspired by the poetry of Yuriy Izdryk and sees Jerry work with Ukrainian composer and pianist Evgeny Khmara. It is the second single from Jerry Heil’s upcoming album, but it already has quite a journey. It first debuted at a Jerry Heil concert before she was at Eurovision, and it now finally gets an official release.

Windows95man – “What’s my name”

Also returning to the round-up is Windows95man, with a song that fits right in with the rest of his discography. It feels tailormade as a big shout along moment at concerts, with the chorus consisting of him shouting the song title and, of course his name.

Olly Alexander – “Polari” (LP)

Fans of Olly Alexander had reason to celebrate as the singer’s album “Polari” was released. There’s a healthy mix of new music to dig into and pre-album releases to enjoy again on this 13-track effort, which also includes Eurovision entry “Dizzy”.

Baby Lasagna – “DMNS & MOSQUITOES” (LP)

Another hotly awaited album to come out this month was the “DMNS & MOSQUITOES” LP by Baby Lasagna. With 14 songs old and new to choose from, there is a lot to dig in and love for fans of the Croatian artist, from new songs like “Good Boy Lasagna” and the title track to popular previous releases such as “IG BOY” and Eurovision entry “Rim Tim Tagi Dim”.

Nigar Muharrem , İlkin Dövlətov – “Gecələr Ayaz”

İlkin Dövlətov is genuinely one of the busiest musicians in the world as he once again is in the round-u. This month he worked with Nigar Muharrem to create “Gecələr Ayaz” (Nightly Breeze), which sees the singers combine traditional Azeri music with some R&B influences.

Nebulossa, Mónica Naranjo – “Venenosa”

Duo Nebulossa are feeling “Venenosa” (Poisonous) on this team-up with Mónica Naranjo. It’s another classic electropop track, with Mónica’s voice providing a nice different timbre in this female empowerment song.

Puuluup – “Üksinda tantsima”

It’s a great slice of nu-folk from Estonian duo Puuluup on “Üksinda tantsima” (To dance alone). This is a song that is hard to describe because it sounds like so many different things but also is something completely its own. Just very good and very much worth your time.

Joost Klein – “Unity” (LP)

If you spent any time on social media after this album dropped, you will have heard about it. Joost Klein‘s “Unity” (LP) sees the artist release music as old and well-known as “Friesenjung” to a bunch of new tracks, with multiple talking about his Eurovision experiences. Tommy Cash, who is set to represent Estonia in 2025 with the song “Espresso Macchiato”, also shows up on the album for track “United By Music”.

Luna – “No Rest” (LP)

We close of the 2024 section with another album. Poland’s Luna released her “No Rest” LP, which you can read more about in this article:
