National finals have begun, Junior Eurovision has happened, and everyone is lodging their final ESC250 votes while music artists keep plugging away in the studio. So let’s settle into this round-up of new music from Eurovision and beyond. This edition includes: reflecting on the past and future, a skiing world championship, and (almost) no Christmas music, because we will have an advent calendar for that!
If you want to jump straight to a certain section, here’s a list of pages, each filled to the brim with new music:
- The 2024 entries
- The Winners
- Other Highlights (Song of the month and album of the month are here)
- Now That’s What I Call… The Extended Eurovision Universe (artists from NFs, JESC, intervals, and more)
The 2024 entries
372kaspar, 5MIINUST – “Nätakas”, 372kaspar, Genka, kohver, Hyrr IV – “Bomboclat”
After working together with one member of 5MIINUST, 372kaspar now also collects the rest of them for his new album “Hasart” (Gambling), and also teams up separately with 5MIINUST member kohver. Both tracks fit firmly into ones expectations of an album by a producer, despite (or perhaps because of) sounding quite different. “Nätakas” is my personal favourite of the two, a pounding song ready for everything from parties to walking around a city late at night. “Bomboclat” in comparison is almost jazzy. The somewhat harsh vocals contrast with the retro, almost muffled production in a fascinating way.
Electric Fields – “Dream On”
In Australia, Paul Kelly’s EP “How to Make Gravy” has reached what is pretty much a legendary status. Now, the EP has been adapted and expanded into a whole film, and of course that means some big Australian names were also asked to make some new music. “Dream On” is Electric Fields’ contribution to the Christmas flick. “Dream On” is a slow and, you guessed it, dreamy track with some beautiful vocal gymnastics by Zaachariaha towards the end.
Baby Lasagna – “Catch Me If You Can”
This piece of new music by Baby Lasagna has nothing to do with the Spielberg film of the same name, and whether that is a good thing or not is up to you. Continuing with his brand of electro-rock, this song gives it a slight… countryrock twist definitely is the vibe I would say. I at least am reminded of some slightly trashy (affectionate) early-to-mid zeroes rock from the US of A.
Nebulossa – “Por Ti Por Mi”
And now for something completely different thanks to some new music from Nebulossa. “Por Ti Por Me” (For You For Me) is a toast to everyone who has supported Nebulossa on their musical journey so far. Sweet, just the right level of emotional, and a nice calmer song to close out the year with.
Olly Alexander – “Polari”
This song is a teaser for Olly’s upcoming album and there is a lot going on for what pretty much is just a snippet worth of new music. “Polari” is reminiscent of dance music and electronica from the 80s with its harsh synths.
Kaleen – “It Feels So Good”
Speaking of throwback aesthetics, Kaleen has released a song that fits right in her wheelhouse. Fans of her Eurovision entry should feel right at home with this and enjoy it quite a bit! The song is a version of the 1998 Sonique classic “It Feels So Good”.
PARFENIUK & alyona alyona – “Шо ти там?”
alyona alyona and PARFENIUK join forces to ask “Шо ти там?” (What are you doing there?). The song has a harsh melody and even harsher vocals from PARFENIUK, with even alyona alyona sounding less smooth than usual as she delivers one of her trademark rap verses. The song is part of PARFENIUK’s new album and produced by RUNSTAR (all of that album, KAZKA, Zlata Ognevich).
Gåte – “På veg”, Gunnhild Sundli – “For What We Love”
Showing up with two songs in this round-up is Gunnhild of Gåte. First she released “For What We Love” as the song for the 2025 Ski World Championship in Trondheim. The band then followed this up with “På veg” (On the way), which we have a whole article on so you can read all about it down below:
Marisa Liz, iolanda – “Contratempo”
iolanda must have a very busy collab calendar, as this month she treated us to new music with Marisa Liz. Read all about “Contratempo” below:
LUNA – “Personal Torture”
