The Winners

Noko Woi – “Poke The Eye” (LP)

I had no clue this was a thing, but it is. Noko Woi is a group that Salvador Sobral has been a part of since 2014. They released one album then, and have been periodically rejoining, leading to this second album “Poke The Eye”. The Eurovision winner provides the vocals over a range of indie and alt musical arrangements, with the occasional jazz or folk inspiration.

Ruslana – “ЗАКРУТИЛА”

The queen of the Wild Dances is here with the song “ЗАКРУТИЛА” (TWISTED). Ruslana, fittingly, twists her sound for this a little as her usual rock-tinged sound makes way for electronic influences on this banging song.

Karin Ann and Duncan Laurence – “choking on my words”

It’s been a little while since we heard a new original song by Duncan Laurence. “choking on my words” is a collab with Slovakian artist Karin Ann, who has been a bit of a rising star thanks to songs such as “looking at porn” and “false gold”. The two singers were joined in the writing booth by Benjamin Lazar Davis (Maya Hawke, Joan As Police Woman, other Karin Ann songs), Luke Moellman (Zara Larsson, Great Good Fine OK, BETTY WHO), Holden Jaffe (better known as Del Water Gap), and Will Graefe (guitarist on studio recordings for Orville Peck, Gaby Moreno, also wrote music for Benjamin Lazar Davis).

LORDI – “Hellizabeth”

The next LORDI album is just around which means it is time for more new music in the form of a pre-release single. “Hellizabeth” is, even in the words of Mr. Lordi, “a typical Lordi song”. And who am I to disagree with him? So, for enjoyers of Lordi like myself this is a very nice addition to the playlists.

Damiano David – “Next Summer”

As his solo career continues, Damiano David is looking forward to “Next Summer”. The song, which has been played a fair amount during the singer’s live gigs, is an acoustic guitar love song that builds and builds throughout. The song was written by Damiano together with Sarah Hudson, and the song’s producers Mark Schick and Jason Evigan.

Kalush Orchestra – “Рута”

The one and only Kalush Orchestra are here with an uplifting banger about that special person in your life that inspires you, lifts you up, and transforms your world with their energy. “Рута” (Route) sees the group experiment with some new influences, taking on elements from house and other electronic genres to create a smoother sound.

KALUSH x BEREZA – “Покохав”

Not to be outdone, KALUSH themselves also added a song to their discography with “Покохав” (He Loved). This collab with BEREZA is surprisingly smooth, with an acoustic guitar starting things off before being joined and overtaken by more and more instrumentation.

Sertab Erener – “Yokluğun Dokunmadı Bana”

Sertab Erener’s has new music out this month as well. “Yokluğun Dokunmadı Bana” (Your absence didn’t touch me) is a song in which the singer reflects on a break up, with traditional and rock elements leading to a fascinating ballad.

Secret Garden – “Nocturne (Remastered 2025 / 30th Anniversary Edition)”

It’s the 30th anniversary of “Nocturne”, the song that won Eurovision while having (almost) no vocals. A remastered version is now out, and this release also sees the announcement of the remaster and re-release of debut album “Songs From A Secret Garden”, which will be out in May.

Herreys – “Jag vill drömma”

“Jag vill drömma” (I want to dream), the Herreys sing on their new single. The song was released ahead of their “Herreys Diggi-loo” 40 year anniversary tour.

Alexander Rybak, Katastrofe, Staysman, TIX, Ylvis – “Svenskejævel”

It’s a Norwegian supercollective on this new song by “What Does The Fox Say” former viral star Ylvis. Eurovision winner Alexander Rybak, former contestant and showmance subject TIX, TV personality and former MGP host Staysman, and Katastrofe, who helped Marcus & Martinus get their first chart success in Sweden all combine forces for “Svenskejævel” (Swedish soul).
