The Winners

Nemo – “Hocus Pocus”

Nemo is feeling magical and falling in love on “Hocus Pocus”. Just like on last month’s “God’s A Raver“, they draw from many different eras and directions of pop music, with this track leaning a bit more modern with its influences. Another really fun track from Nemo!

Lenny Kuhr – “Licht” (EP)

It has been almost half a century since her shared Eurovision win, and Lenny Kuhr still is actively making music. Her latest album is called “Licht” (Light), which she is also touring in theatres across the Netherlands.

Sertab Erener – “Böyledir Benim Ayrılıklarım”

“Böyledir Benim Ayrılıklarım” (Such Are My Break-Ups) is Sertab’s latest and sees the singer up the drama on this pop-rock ballad. Her voice is gorgeous as always, and the instrumentation feels rich, all adding to a stunning way to lament and slightly wallow in the emotional turmoil of break-ups.

KALUSH x Віктор Павлік – “Край села”

As is tradition, KALUSH are back with another collab. “Край села” (The edge of the village) sees the group team up with singer Viktor Pavlik for what otherwise is a fairly standard (which is to say engaging and very listenable) Kalush track.

Victoria de Angelis – “CLUBHOUSE”

If all you want is beats, Victoria de Angelis has you covered with the in your face “CLUBHOUSE”. The track is a collaboration with MCR-T and Six Sex.

Damiano David – “FUNNY little FEARS (DREAMS)” (LP)

Meanwhile, fellow Måneskin member Damiano David released the deluxe version of his “FUNNY little FEARS” album by throwing the word dreams behind the title and adding a couple extra songs. The extra tracks have been, in a move I strongly dislike but seems to be just how things work nowadays, been added to the start of the album. So now we open on a (admittedly kinda fun) collab with Nile Rodgers and Tyla, followed by another collab with The Strokes member Albert Hammond Jr., followed by three solo efforts. In an effort to truly infuriate me, there also is a Spotify-exclusive version of this deluxe album. Said version also adds Damiano’s cover of the Mark Ronson/Miley Cyrus’ “Nothing Breaks Like A Heart” at the end of the album.

Marianne Mendt – “I Wish You Love (feat. Conchita Wurst)”

Marianne Mendt competed in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1971 for Austria, and now teams up with her country’s second winner for the title track of her new album. “I Wish You Love” is an English language version of “Que reste-t-il de nos amours?”, a French song first released in 1944. Since then, everyone and their mother has recorded a cover of this song in any number of languages, including Eurovision alums such as Françoise Hardy, Engelbert Humperdinck, Patricia Kaas, and Trijntje Oosterhuis.

JJ – “Back To Forgetting”

Our current reigning, JJ, joined many of his fellow 2025 contestants in treating us to new music this month. Read more about “Back To Forgetting” in our article below.
