🇬🇪 Georgia confirms Junior Eurovision 2024 participation

More countries are continuing to confirm their participation at this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Up next is Georgia, with GPB officially confirming its participation in Madrid. Georgia’s participation will see them compete for the 18th time.

Participant to be confirmed in due course

GPB’s participation in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest was revealed by the broadcaster to Eurovoix, with the broadcaster confirming that their representative will be revealed in due course. Usually, the broadcaster uses the show “Ranina” to select its representative for Junior Eurovision, and it is to be determined if Andria Putkaradze, who won the competition in the latest season will be their representative.

All about Junior Eurovision 2024

While France won the 2023 contest on home soil, French broadcaster France Télévisions had the right of first refusal to host the 2024 contest. Consequently, the EBU has given hosting honours to Spain, who placed second in Nice with Sandra Valero’s “Loviu”. This year’s competition will take place on Saturday, the 16th of November at Caja Mágica, which can hold up to 13,000 spectators.

Georgia’s Junior Eurovision Journey

Georgia is the joint most successful country to take part in Junior Eurovision, currently with three wins under their belt. The country joined the Junior Eurovision family in 2007 with Mariam Romelashvili sing “Odelia Ranuni”, finishing in 4th place. Georgia would go on to win the competition the following year, with Bzikebi’s “Bzz…”. Georgia would also win the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2011 and 2016 respectively. Georgia also hosted the Contest in Tbilisi in 2017.

In 2023, Georgia was represented by Anastasia and Ranina and their song “Over The Sky” in Nice. Once the combined scores were revealed, Georgia finished in 14th place – earning 74 points. The online vote gave Georgia 53 points, whilst professional juries awarded 21 points to the country.
