Portugal has officially selected its representative for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2025. Inês Gonçalves will fly the Portuguese flag this December in Tbilisi, Georgia.

The winner of the latest season of The Voice Kids Portugal

The artist was chosen through the sixth season of The Voice Kids Portugal, which concluded this evening on RTP. After months of performances and a two-part final, Inês emerged as the winner and Portugal’s selection for Junior Eurovision 2025. The release date of the song has not yet been announced by RTP.

This marks the fifth time Portugal has used The Voice Kids as its selection method for Junior Eurovision, having first adopted the format in 2021.

Portugal’s Junior Eurovision journey

Portugal first took part in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2006, with Pedro Madeira singing his song “Deixa-me sentir”. At the close of voting, Portugal finished 14th in a field of 15 participants with a total of 22 points. Portugal participated once more in 2007, before taking a 10 year break and returning to the Contest in 2017.

Portugal achieved their best-ever result at Junior Eurovision 2024, reaching second place with Victoria Nicole and her song “Esperança”. She won the online vote with 117 points, and received 96 points from the juries, for a total of 213.
