The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Yerevan is just over one week away. Before the start of rehearsals, it has been announced that France’s Lissandro will be joined by four backing dancers for his performance of “Oh Maman!”.
Who will join Lissandro on stage?
In a post on Instagram, Lissandro announced who will join him on stage in Yerevan. Dancers Lola, Yana, Mahdy and Thimeo, will all accompany Lissandro on stage.
Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022
The 2022 Junior Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Yerevan, following Malena’s win in the 2021 Junior Eurovision Song Contest with “Qami Qami“, with the competition set to take place on the 11th of December. The competing countries in this year’s competition are as follows:
- Albania – Kejtlin Gjata
- Armenia – Nare
- France – Lissandro
- Georgia – Mariam Bigvava
- Ireland – Sophie Lennon
- Italy – Chanel Dilecta
- Kazakhstan – David Charlin
- Malta – Gaia Gambuzza
- The Netherlands – Luna
- North Macedonia – Lara, Irina & Jovan
- Poland – Laura Bączkiewicz
- Portugal – Nicolas Alves
- Serbia – Katarina Savić
- Spain – Carlos Higes
- Ukraine – Zlata Dziunka
- United Kingdom – Freya Skye

France’s Junior Eurovision Journey
France took part in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2004. Represented by Thomas Pontier singing “Si on voulait bien”, France finished in 6th place earning 78 points. However, the country withdrew from the Contest, citing a ‘Eurovision overkill’. France would not rejoin the Contest until 2018. Since then, France has become a Junior Eurovision powerhouse, finishing in the top 5 in each of their four subsequent participations. France won the 2020 edition of the Contest, with Valentina singing “J’imagine”.
France’s most recent participation was on home soil, as Paris hosted the 2021 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. The country was represented by Enzo, singing his song “Tic Tac”. At the close of voting, France finished in third place with 187 points. Of these, 67 points came from the online vote, whilst the remaining 120 were given by professional juries across Europe.
