🎶 Eurovision music round-up: October 2022

October has been a busy, busy month for anything and everything involving Eurovision. So strap in for a fun and long edition of the monthly music round-up! In this edition: re-recordings, album announcements, and so, so much more.

The 2022 entries

PIA MARIA – “White Noise”

Austria’s PIA MARIA is back with her second release since performing at Eurovision, having released “I Know U Know” back in June. “White Noise” goes for a more conventional pop-sound than her previous single, singing about only hearing white noise when her partner speaks. Pia co-wrote the song with Robert Wallner and two time German NF contestant and TES music round-up regular Felicia Lu.

Sheldon Riley – “Never Enough”

This round-up goes from Austria to Australia: Sheldon Riley has released his first post-Eurovision song. The “Not The Same” performer had a great run on The Masked Singer Australia, ending up in second place behind former The Pussycat Dolls member Melody Thornton with his performance . He has now released his version of “Never Enough”, the track from The Greatest Showman he performed in the final.

Subwoolfer feat. Luna Ferrari – “Howling”

Intergalactic wolves Subwoolfer have teamed up with their sister Luna Ferrari for new track “Howling,” their follow up to July’s “Melocoton“. The track features the familiar electronic Subwoolfer sound, with Luna Ferrari lending her vocals to the chorus. Lyrically, the song is about the many dangerous howling wolves running around at night. “Howling” sees the yellow wolves work behind the scenes with Eddie Jonsson, Eirik Gjendemsjø (LUM!X’s “We Could Be Together“), and Iselin Solheim (vocalist for Alan Walker).

YouNotUs x Willy William – “Enchanté” feat. Malik Harris & Minelli

German DJ and producer duo YouNotUs, who scored a massive hit in 2015 with a cover of Raemonn’s “Supergirl“, have done quite the team up for new track “Enchanté”. The track features Germany’s 2022 representative Malik Harris, Romanian singer-songwriter Minelli, who scored a massive hit last year with her track “Rampampam“, and French singer and DJ Willy William, best known for the absolutely inescapable 2017 hit “Mi Gente” with J Balvin. The house track, which is about Malik Harris falling for someone, features his vocal throughout with Willy WIlliam and Minelli joining him as the track progresses. This is Malik Harris’ second post-Eurovision release, following June’s solo effort “you & i“.

S10 – “Ik Besta Voor Altijd Zolang Je Aan Mij Denkt” (LP)

S10 has released “Ik Besta Voor Altijd Zolang Je Aan Mij Denkt” (I exist forever as long as you think of me), her much anticipated follow-up to 2020 album “Vlinders”. S10’s new album builds on the sound she is known for, drawing from singer-songwriter, alternative pop, and emo rap influences to create a dynamic, deeply personal, and highly musically and lyrically engaging experience. The 14 track piece includes Eurovision entry “De Diepte,” long rumoured Eurovision entry “Dans Mij Naar Huis,” July’s “Laat Me Los,” and much anticipated Froukje collab “Nooit Meer Spijt” (Never Regret), which was released as a single alongside the album.
