Who are Lauren Layfield and HRVY?
Layfield joined CBBC in 2015, and has presented shows such as Capital Early Breakfast, makeover series The Dengineers, and music show The Playlist. HRVY is best known as a singer who has been active since 2015; he has collaborated with artists such as NCT Dream, Astrid S, and Jonas Blue. He also appeared on Strictly Come Dancing in 2020.

The UK at Junior Eurovision 2022
The United Kingdom was one of the first countries to take part in the first edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2003. Represented by Tom Morley and his song “My Song for the World”, the UK finished in 3rd place in Copenhagen. At the close of voting, Morley earned 118 points, only behind Spain and Croatia. The UK would compete a further two times, with their most successful attempt coming in 2004. In Lillehammer, Cory Spedding finished in second place with her song “The Best is Yet to Come”.
This year, the UK will be represented by 13-year-old Freya Skye, their return after a sixteen-year absence. Skye recently performed her song, written by Jack Hawitt, Amber van Day, and Falco van den Aker, live for the first time on Children in Need this past Friday.
