🇵🇹 The official music video of “Anos 70” to be released on November 7

As the days go by, more and more continue to release their entries for Yerevan. Another country to do so is Portugal, who will present Nicolas Alves’ Junior Eurovision entry “Anos 70” tomorrow, November 7.

The official music video for “Anos 70” is set to premiere on the official Junior Eurovision Song Contest Youtube Channel at 17:30CET. The link for the premiere is already available below:

Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022

The 2022 Junior Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Yerevan, following Malena’s win in the 2021 Junior Eurovision Song Contest with “Qami Qami“, with the competition set to take place on the 11th of December. The competing countries in this year’s competition are as follows:

• France – Lissandro
• Georgia – Mariam Bigvava
• Ireland – Sophie Lennon
• Italy – Chanel Dilecta
• Kazakhstan – David Charlin
• Malta – Gaia Gambuzza

• North Macedonia – Lara, Irina & Jovan
• Poland – Laura Bączkiewicz
• Portugal – Nicolas Alves
• Serbia – Katarina Savić
• Spain – Carlos Higes
• Ukraine – Zlata Dziunka
• United Kingdom – Freya Skye

Portugal’s Junior Eurovision Journey

Portugal first took part in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2006, with Pedro Madeira singing his song “Deixa-me sentir”. At the close of voting, Portugal finished 14th in a field of 15 participants with a total of 22 points. Portugal participated once more in 2007, before taking a 10 year break and returning to the Contest in 2017. Since then, Portugal has participated a total of six times.

Portugal’s most recent participation came in 2021, when Simão Oliveira represented the nation in Paris with song “O Rapaz”. Once the combined scores were revealed, Portugal finished in 11th place with 101 points. This is currently Portugal’s best result at the Junior Contest, with 92 points coming from the online vote, whilst the remaining 9 came from professional juries.
