We have our first participant of Eurovision Young Musicians, as it has been revealed that Cellist Hugo Svedberg will represent Sweden at the 21st edition of the competition.

Winner of the Polstjärnepriset 2024

Hugo won the Polstjärnepriset 2024 where he impressed the jury with his solo performance, as well as his performance with the Gothenburg Symphony.

Speaking about his win, he mentioned the following:

It was so much fun playing with the orchestra and I’ve learned so much.

In the Pole Star Prize, you get the opportunity to play with a professional orchestra, which is very special. There are also many rounds in the competition and you learn something every time

The jury also commented on why they selected Hugo as the winner:

Hugo is a young master with a powerful tone. He has an obvious soloist understanding, musical intelligence and heart.

As the winner of Polstjärnepriset 2024, Hugo receives 50,000SEK, as well as being appointed as Sweden’s representative at this year’s Eurovision Young Musicians in Norway.
