With only over a month to go until this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest takes place in Yerevan. Ahead of the competition, Armenian broadcaster AMPTV, who is hosting this year’s competition has revealed further information about what to expect in this year’s competition.
AMPTV states Junior Eurovision 2022 plans
During AMPTV’s Junior Eurovision 2022 press conference. Nare was revealed as Armenia’s representative for this year’s competition. In addition to this, details were also highlighted for this year’s contest. It was revealed that tickets will go on sale in November, they are expected to cost between 5,000 and 30,000 drams (approximately €13 to €76).
The opening ceremony for Junior Eurovision 2022 will take place on December 5th in the Republic Square in central Yerevan, where the opening and closing acts will be determined by a draw. In addition to the draw, the opening ceremony would also involve the 16 participants switching the Christmas lights on, something which would normally take place on December 25. However, the Municipality of Yerevan made an exception for this year’s contest.
In addition to the opening ceremony details, further information about the show itself has been revealed. Last year’ winner Maléna will perform during the contest as an interval act which will see her perform a new track. In addition to this, the three hosts that will be presenting this year’s show will be revealed in November.
Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022
The 2022 Junior Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Yerevan, following Malena’s win in the 2021 Junior Eurovision Song Contest with “Qami Qami“, with the competition set to take place on the 11th of December. The competing countries in this year’s competition are as follows:

- France – Lissandro
- Georgia – Mariam Bigvava
- Ireland – Sophie Lennon
- Italy
- Kazakhstan – David Charlin
- Malta – Gaia Gambuzza
- The Netherlands – Luna
- North Macedonia – Lara Trpčeska and Irina Davidovska
- Poland – Laura Bączkiewicz
- Portugal – Nicolas Alves
- Serbia – Katarina Savić
- Spain – Carlos Higes
- Ukraine – Zlata Dziunka
- United Kingdom
