As we get closer to this year’s Junior Eurovision, the promotional trail for some of the competing artists continue to take place. Last week, it was the UK’s 2022 representative who was on the promotional trail as Freya Skye performed “Lose My Head” on Children in Need.
Freya’s live debut performance of “Lose My Head”
On her debut performance of her Junior Eurovision 2022 entry, we see Freya bring some of the elements of her music video on to the stage. From the golden chair, to the outfit and the dance moves, Freya’s performance certainly went well with the audience who were attending the event.
Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022
The 2022 Junior Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Yerevan, followingMalena’s win in the 2021 Junior Eurovision Song Contest with “Qami Qami“, with the competition set to take place on the 11th of December. The competing countries in this year’s competition are as follows:
- Albania – Kejtlin Gjata
- Armenia – Nare
- France – Lissandro
- Georgia – Mariam Bigvava
- Ireland – Sophie Lennon
- Italy – Chanel Dilecta
- Kazakhstan – David Charlin
- Malta – Gaia Gambuzza
- The Netherlands – Luna
- North Macedonia – Lara, Irina & Jovan
- Poland – Laura Bączkiewicz
- Portugal – Nicolas Alves
- Serbia – Katarina Savić
- Spain – Carlos Higes
- Ukraine – Zlata Dziunka
- United Kingdom – Freya Skye

The United Kingdom’s Junior Eurovision Journey
The United Kingdom was one of the first countries to take part in the first edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2003. Represented by Tom Morley and his song “My Song for the World”, the UK finished in 3rd place in Copenhagen. At the close of voting, Morley earned 118 points, only behind Spain and Croatia. The UK would compete a further two times, with their most successful attempt coming in 2004. In Lillehammer, Cory Spedding finished in second place with her song “The Best is Yet to Come”.
