Tonight, RTVE has announced further information about Junior Eurovision 2024. It has been revealed that Ruth Lorenzo, Marc Clotet, and Melani García will have the honour of hosting the 22nd edition of the competition in Madrid.
Hosts with Eurovision connections
Our hosts consist of one previous Eurovision participant, one previous Junior Eurovision participant and a new face to Eurovision fans.
First, we have Spain’s Eurovision 2014 representative Ruth Lorenzo, who participated with her entry “Dancing In The Rain”. Her participation in the competition 10 years ago, saw Spain achieve a top ten result in Copenhagen. Since then, Ruth has released music, and even hosted the Spanish Eurovision selection ‘Benidorm Fest’.
Speaking about hosting Junior Eurovision in Madrid, Ruth mentions:
This is a responsibility like few others I have ever had as a presenter. I live it with the same enthusiasm, responsibility and fantasy as the young artists that will come to Madrid to share their music
We then move on to Spain’s Junior Eurovision 2019 representative Melani García, who was Spain’s representative in the competition after taking a 13-year break in 2009. Her participation with “Marte” saw her finish 3rd place. Before Junior Eurovision Melani won ‘La Voz Kids’ (Spain’s version of The Voice Kids). Since her participation, she has released music and was even nominated for Best Spanish Artist at the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards in 2022.
Speaking about her appointment as the host Melani mentions:
Being there and living the experience from another point of view is one of my dreams. I will take the stage as an artist but also as a Eurofan, and I will try to make sure that you enjoy the festival as much as I will
Finally, we have a new face for Eurofans in the form of Marc Clotet, a Model and Actor, who has starred in numerous films and shows. In 2021, Marc started his own production company where he co-produced the series “Esto No Es Suecia” with RTVE, which was awarded honours at Cannes Series Festival and the Prix Europa Awards
Speaking about his appointment as one of the hosts:
Being able to host a show like this, in front of 30 million people, in English, and to follow and support the dream of so many girls and boys from all over Europe, makes me very happy
