With the preparations for Junior Eurovision 2024 in full swing, we are starting to get further details about the 22nd edition of the competition, with less than a week to go, a first look at this year’s stage has been unveiled.
The stage is complete!
With the delegations set to undertake their rehearsals imminently, RTVE has given a glimpse of the stage in which the 17 participants will be competing at, with the broadcaster showing a clip of its construction from start to finish.
As we have previously reported, RTVE designed a simple but modern stage, with a circular stage and a large vertical LED screen, which is reminiscent of the verticality of the digital world.
Speaking about the stage, Marvin Dietmann, the artistic director of this year’s contest comments:
“Our vision is rooted in the belief that diversity is the essence of beauty, much like a flourishing garden. In this creative journey, we embrace the idea that each artist, like a unique plant, contributes to the vibrant tapestry of our ‘garden of life’. Here, everyone has their place and together we grow into diverse shapes, colours and forms.
We invite our audience to trust in our vision and the future of our artists, as we embark on this transformative experience together.”
All About Junior Eurovision 2024
While France won the 2023 contest on home soil, French broadcaster France Télévisions had the right of first refusal to host the 2024 contest. Consequently, the EBU has given hosting honors to Spain, who placed second in Nice with Sandra Valero’s “Loviu”. This year’s competition will take place on Saturday, the 16th of November at Caja Mágica, with the venue holding up to 6,000 spectators. This year’s show will be hosted by Ruth Lorenzo, Marc Clotet, and Melani García.
